Ceramic Mate Gourds, Chawans, and More!

Handmade in Vermont Pottery

I am outstanding in my field, er, I mean my pottery studio…

Ceramic Yerba Mate Gourds

If you like drinking Yerba Mate tea from a gourd but like being able to clean it then you will love this ceramic mate gourd. It fits the hand nicely while the curve holds the Yerba Mate much like a regular gourd. .

These particular Chawans are designed to easily whisk Matcha tea with a rounded bottom and taller sides. The size is designed to large enough to whisk tea while being small enough to easily drink directly out of without feeling awkward…

Shaving Mugs

This shave soap bowl is a perfect size for lathering up. It’s approximately 4.5″ wide at the top and then narrows at the bottom to about 2.5 inches the perfect size for a normal soap puck…

Mastery of Craft

“The ongoing mastery of craft is highly inspirational. There is a dedication that borders on spiritual. How else to describe taking a lump of earth and making it both functional and beautiful?” -Wyatt

I am working towards mastery of a pottery but as with any craft it’s elusive. The deeper you go the more you realize there is to know. Yet the process of creating and getting deeper brings greater meaning to life and so continues.

Beyond Amazon

After selling on Amazon for some time, WJC Pottery was created out of necessity.

I love selling on Amazon and reaching people from around country and the world. Amazon is one of the largest online retailers in the world and that success looks to continue for some time.

However being online on another platform is what Copyblogger calls “digital sharecropping.” (If you are unfamiliar with the term check out this article) By being on Amazon is growing on rented land and the terms of service could change at anytime.

By having my own platform or website I own a bit of online “real estate” and help to “fugure-proof” selling pottery online. If you are an artist you owe it to yourself to do the same.

Safe Materials

From the clay to the glaze I always make sure they are lead free and dinnerware safe. There are plenty of beautiful glazes to use that won’t sacrifice your health or mine.
